Question by Barack McClinton: How come no one finds it funny when you joke about hard drugs like meth or heroin?
Pot jokes are kind of corny and everyone agrees. And most people can appreaciate a cocaine joke as long as it has context.

But if you make a random joke about meth, people are angry about it. Why should be we feel sorry or feel sensititve about drug “addiction”?

And don’t tell me I don’t know. The police threw me in a “weed rehab” when I was a teenager.

look.. ya got me.. me AND my kids “crack” up (pun DEFINATELY intended) about their crack head daddy..

he started on drugs when my kids was 3 and 4.. and he just got off officially for “good” (just does weed and alcohol now) about 2 years ago.. which means for about 16 years he was the town crack head…lol.. we chuckle about the things he use to do while high all the time…lol

just thinking about it now is making me laff..

Question by Aj: How long does THC stay in your system?
I was wondering, if I went and smoked pot for the first time tomorrow how long would it stay in my system? Would I be fine to take a urine test in about a month? I don’t want lectures telling me I shouldn’t do try it because I’m not gonna do it. I was just wondering because I’ve done “research” on it and I’ve gotten several different answers.

1 month

It really depends on your digestive system & metabolism & how quick they function. Urine stays in the body from 2 to 60 days. A good way to get it out of your system is to drink as many fluids as possible to “wash out” your digestive system. If that is not possible, try to dilute your pee that means when you pee fill the cup partially with WARM water. This is important because piss is warm, don’t over do it though or else it will just look like water. Taking those to steps & you’ll be well on your way back to smoking like bob marley!

Question by Dennis: How will losing all family support effect a drug addict?
I know you need to cut druggies off unless they get help but what happens if you also treat them like you hate them?

My brother is on Meth and he did a lot of horrible things to our family over the years. When our Mom passed away I finally retaliated and did a lot of horrible things to him. To be honest though it didn’t make me feel any better.

I am wondering what losing all family support will do to a drug addict?

thats hard. i have never been in that situation. But family support is very strong and if my sister was doing drugs i would do everything i could to help her quit and see what she is doing to her life and how she is effecting everyone else. but you also have to understand what there going through too. Good Luck 🙂

Answer by Daily.Bullsh
well, i know my ex had a problem with different drugs but drinking was the major one. his family cut him off and it seemed it got worse. he tried to commit suicide 3 different times, once by OD, once by hanging and another time by OD on flexril (sp?) i found out towards the end of our relationship that it was a cry for help and all he wanted was his family to tell him that they loved him and was there for him.

Column: Resources for families affected by drug addiction
Also, do not underestimate the value of support groups and counseling. As an ex-prosecutor, I routinely saw success from these types of programs. Drug abuse not only affects the addicted person, but it takes a serious toll on their families and friends.
