Question by Myles: Why are parents afraid to discipline their children?
You see these things on tv about teens addicted to drugs, getting pregnant,etc. Let me tell you this. If I got out of line, my parents beat my a ss, and they didn’t care what my excuse was. If I did any of the stuff teenagers do today, I would’ve been disowned at this point.

Why should teenagers be able to argue with their parents? A teens brain is not even fully developed, and they’re going to ignore what their parents tell them? How can kids be so stupid?
A parent occasionally hitting their kids is not abuse. It’s showing them who’s boss.

Question by Jenifer: Why does insurance cover so little days for drug rehab?
My husband was just admitted to Sunrise House in Lafayette,Nj. This is his first time in rehab. It is a 28 days program but the people who work there tell me we will get lucky if they let him stay for 10 days. Why do they do this?
ok, honeslty, everyone is being a little judgmental. Addiction is a disease and people need help for it. I was just wondering if any has been in a simular situation and could give me any insight.

Its a dumb ass policy. Common sense i think. Why insure someone trying to kill their selves.

Listen takito burrito, inhaling a subbstance that makes you feel the need for more of it is NOT a MEDICAL ISSUE. Its someone being a complete dumb ass and expects everyone else to feel sorry for him and fix it for him.

He needs to take responsibility for his actions and quit trying to scam insurance companies.

I have what I believe to be an addiction, but it does not fall into the regular “groups” (Drugs, Alcohol, Sex/Porn, etc). Are there any general addiction support groups where I could seek peer aid?

It’s kinda hard to help if we don’t know what the addiction is. But there might be a support group for it. Maybe try googling it instead.

They have support groups in many cities. See if your city has a group. They meet 1-3 a month for an hour and a half. Talking helps. You will be surprised that you aren’t alone.

I use to be addicted to beer and cigarettes and sex. After my divorce and having a child I stopped all that. But I’m now addicted to spending money on crap. Purses, pens, lighthouses, books, food. I’m also addicted to food. Big time! My health isn’t good because of it. I’m also addicted to Yahoo Answers 🙂
