Question by : How do you cope with the fact that your adopted?
About 9-10 months ago my half-brother found me on facebook. I didn’t have a problem with it at first, but now it’s sinking in that i am not really 100% related to any family. Does anyone have any advice?

You didn’t have a problem with it at first because you were thinking clearly back then.

So your adopted. Big deal. At least you HAVE a family who wants you around.

Stop trying to over analyze your situation.

Wait a minute, can’t you see how blessed you are? There is no reason why you should carry around any quilt. First of all, no one has a perfect family, Secondly, you are related 100% to your family. You should be happy about being included in a family. Can you see that there are a whole bunch of children in this world who will never know who their family is, regardless, of who you where born by. Count your blessings – perhaps where you are at right now was the best choice for your life. Family is family! You are family too! Try saying that to someone who appreciates the family that raised them. Acceptance is a powerful thing! If your present family didn’t love you they wouldn’t have accepted you. Sometimes what we don’t know can be the best thing for us.
