Question by The Resurrected Coolnickname: Am I psychologically wrong if one of the most if not only reasons I work out is because of the endorphin rush?
I mean I feel like I’m cheating evolution!!!
The endorphin rush is just so vivid and good too,it’s like smoking a certain herb I used to use(lol)!!!
But what I’m worried about is if there have been any cases in the world where this has gotten out of hand in some people psychologically. You,know like addiction?
I ask this for obvious reasons of course.

no! i love the rush to 🙂

Answer by Awake
This is pretty much normal. Human brains are programmed to want to exercise, and that “programming” involves the release of endorphins. The fact that you experience a high from breathing is not a bad thing. It’s an extremely healthy way to feel good, and it’s not artificial or from outside sources, like drugs and alcohol. As long as you’re not hurting anyone else just so you can exercise, then there’s nothing to worry about.

Why don’t doctors try to come up with something that works more long term to permanently restore the chemical imbalance?

Best answer:

Answer by Rofl boxxy :3
just ask yourself wheres the money in it??

if all depression was permanantly cured there would be no more income

Answer by ariella
the problem is, chemical imbalances change over time, and people habituate to medication and the efficacy wears off over time. that’s definitely a big contributing factor to why there is no ‘big fix’. each neuron responsible for the creation and uptake of neurotransmitters would have to be affected properly to get the right balance. certain doses of meds for one person work perfectly, whereas someone else: they barely work, or have the worst possible effect imagineable.
it’s even harder because, in a lot of ways, neurobiologists don’t even know WHY these chemical components work to affect depression. so the cause of depression isn’t even entirely known. we know WHAT chemicals *can* be involved in it. but that’s about it. it’s a very difficult disease to pinpoint.
